Acrylic laser cutting — Gold Coast

We laser cut acrylic for signwriters, shopfitters and trade fabricators across the Gold Coast and Brisbane corridor. The Thunder Nova 51 (1300 × 900 mm bed, 130 W) handles letter sets, faces and decorative work; our production laser (1220 × 2440 mm bed) runs full sheets up to 12 mm. AU acrylic steps in standard thicknesses — 3, 4.5 and 6 mm cover most signage.

What we cut on it

Acrylic laser work is the workhorse cut for signage, retail fitouts and decorative pieces. Files in, parts ready to mount — the flame-polished edge straight off the cut is the reason we laser instead of route where the material allows.

How the job runs

Send DXF where you can — AI, SVG, PDF, EPS and DWG accepted. We confirm material (clear / white / coloured / opal / frosted / mirror), thickness and quantity, then quote with file checks and lead time. Approved files cut next; pickup from Helensvale by appointment.

What we don't do on this material

Honest boundaries up-front. Anything outside this list, send the brief and we'll review.

  • 5 mm isn't an AU-stocked acrylic thickness — we confirm 4.5 mm or 6 mm before cutting
  • Laser cutting at 8 mm and above is reviewed case-by-case
  • No certified ISO-grade tolerances — standard cut tol is ±0.1 mm on the Nova 51
  • No install, mounting or finishing — we cut, you mount

What thicknesses of acrylic do you laser cut?
AU acrylic distribution steps in 3, 4.5 and 6 mm for signage, with thicker stock up to 12 mm available for architectural work. 8 mm and above is reviewed before quoting — edge finish and cut quality both change at depth.
Can you cut clear, coloured and mirror acrylic on the same job?
Yes — flag the materials, thicknesses and quantities per part on your quote. We confirm stock against your spec before cutting and won't silently substitute.
Do you supply the acrylic or can I bring my own?
Both. Standard signage stock we supply — flag custom brand, tint or sheet size in the quote. Customer-supplied stock is accepted under review; tell us thickness, condition and provenance so we can confirm machine compatibility before cutting.
What's the lead time for laser-cut acrylic?
Quote back, usually within 1 business day. Production lead time is confirmed per job — depends on volume, sheet stock and the workshop's current schedule.
