Foam PVC CNC routing — Gold Coast
Foam PVC is the default signage substrate — paintable, vinyl-ready, weather-stable in heat and rain, and dimensionally consistent across the cut. We CNC rout foam PVC from 3 mm through 19 mm stock for Gold Coast and Brisbane sign trade.
What we cut on it
Foam PVC handles the bulk of trade signage substrate work — lightweight enough for fast install, stable enough for outdoor use, and the surface paints or vinyls straight off the cut.
- Sign panels — flat-mount and standoff
- Lightweight dimensional lettering
- Real estate boards and event signage
- Exhibition stands, pylons and pop-up displays
- Backers for built-up acrylic letter installs
How the job runs
Send the cut file with material thickness and quantity. We confirm brand and finish (matte / gloss, painted-ready), quote, and cut next. Pickup from Helensvale or local Gold Coast delivery on larger jobs.
Why we never laser cut foam PVC
PVC-based materials release chlorine compounds when burned — toxic to the operator and corrosive to the laser machinery. CNC routing is the only safe process for foam PVC.
- Chlorine release damages laser optics and seals
- Fume is toxic — never an acceptable workshop risk
- CNC routing gives a clean, square, paint-ready edge
- No vinyl or rigid PVC on the laser, either — same chemistry
Common questions
Frequently asked.
- What foam PVC thicknesses do you stock?
- Common stock spans 3 mm through 19 mm. Brand (Forex, Komatex or equivalent) and finish are confirmed per job. Painted, primed or pre-finished sheets are accepted — flag the surface in your quote.
- Will foam PVC hold up outdoors?
- Yes — closed-cell foam PVC is weather-stable and dimensionally consistent in Australian sun and rain. UV-rated finishes are available; flag if your install is high-exposure so we can confirm the right stock.
- Can you pre-paint or finish foam PVC?
- We cut, you finish. The surface paints and vinyls cleanly, but spraying, sealing or edge work isn't in scope. Painted-ready stock is available if you want to skip the prep step.
